duly convened in council - duly noted that they want to the rich land back, duly, as aforesaid aforesworn – aforeswearing that convened in council and duly heard that corpses will be gathered in spring that whereas the people of said tract (as duly addressed) want the rich land back that the corpses will stink more than they do now - that, informed by her myopic majesty, the duly noted aforementioned corpse – that they want it back, aforesaid, aforesworn   Treaty 8 + Standing Rock Comments Section

Renée Jackson-Harper is a PhD candidate in Canadian literature at York University and a faculty member in the English and creative writing departments at Selkirk College. Her creative work has been published in Prism International, Room, WTF Magazine, The Trinity Review, and aired on CBC Radio’s “A Verse to Summer.” She has been long listed for the 2015 CBC Poetry Prize, shortlisted for the 2016 Prism International Poetry Contest, and long listed for the Prism International Pacific Spirit Poetry Prize.
