I am drunk off Kendall Jenner’s Pepsi. Fizz seethes past incisors and tongue. Count this carbonated burp        *burp* as a Prayer for Paris. “It’s the thought that counts!” “It’s the thought that counts!” Where’s the skin, the cartilage. Where’s the investment of blood vessels. Show me a MacBook circuit board, fried and burnt from decent, salty sweat. Body thinking, body moving, body doing, body ripping out the goddamn ‘enter’ key. Pick a bone, any bone, to pick: ______________________________________ Do-good Facebook statuses with 108 likes and an engagement metric of fuck you. Poetry on the beauty of writing poetry. Millennial think-pieces. Profile pic activism. Lobster font. ______________________________________ Consider: there are more stars in the universe than granules of sand on Earth. Please, draw a line in antiproverbial sand. Upturn galaxies. Spin granules into quasars. Only a witch can save us. Only a black Massachusetts night. Conjure an army of ghosts with double the backbone of Atticus Finch. Translucent arms incapable of patting themselves on the back.
