Missed the deadline to enter the Thomas Morton Prize the first time? Don’t worry, you’ve got more time! The deadline for the Thomas Morton Prize has been extended to October 15th, 2019 at 11:59 p.m. EST.
In case our writing contest is news to you, this year’s judges are Michael Redhill for fiction and Souvankham Thammavongsa for poetry. The winner in each category will receive $1,000 and publication in our upcoming fall issue. One runner-up in each category will receive $200 as well as publication.
We also have great prize packs of books generously donated by Penguin Canada, Coach House, Biblioasis, House of Anansi, ECW, Véhicule, Book*hug, Metatron, NeWest, Mansfield, Thistledown, Guernica, Porcupine’s Quill, Goose Lane, Metonomy, and more!
We know – it’s no surprise that we’ve extended our deadline. But did you know that last year, 3 out of our 4 winners and runners up sent us their work during the deadline extension? Deadline extensions help us get more great work, and we can’t wait to see it.
Check out our Writing Contest page for more details or head straight to our Submittable page and send us your work by October 15th.
