BLACK FRIDAY BECKONS!
BLACK FRIDAY 2013 witnesses a three-way collision of Puritan milestones. Join the editors, staff, and readers of The Puritan for our now annual “BLACK” event, taking place in the last week of November of each year.
BLACK FRIDAY 2013 is a night of celebrations to honour the winners of our Second Annual Thomas Morton Memorial Prize in Literary Excellence, for both fiction and poetry: Aurora Brackett’s stellar short story, “The Edge of Mercury” and Nathan Slinker’s awesome poem, “New Pastoral.” Help us congratulate our winners and runners-up in grand style.
Secondly, BLACK FRIDAY 2013 sees the electronic launch of Issue 23: Fall 2013—a fantastic collection of fiction, poetry, and journalism to end a fabulous calendar year.
Thirdly, and to usher in the glad tidings and the bountiful work published since January, authors published in 2013 will be providing live readings. These writers (so far) include:
- Rob Benvie
- Laura Clarke
- Liz Howard
- R. Kolewe
- Ben Ladouceur
- Camille Martin
- Bardia Sinaee
- Jim Smith
- Kilby Smith-McGregor
