William Dao is the outgoing co-editor of the Hybrid/Experimental section at The Ex-Puritan. He is a theatre and video artist born and raised in Toronto, now based in New York. He has collaborated with numerous theatre companies across Canada, including the Stratford Festival, Soulpepper, Crow’s Theatre, and Canadian Stage. His video piece music to watch boys to debuted during a reading co-hosted by the ArQuives and Joy Kogawa House. After seeing this work, Editor-in-Chief Sanchari Sur invited Dao to help shape and develop the magazine’s Hybrid/Experimental section, a role he held from 2022 to 2025.
